Ingredients
  

Dairy:

  • 1 lb 450 g white American cheese, cubed
  • 1 cup 240 ml milk (adjust for consistency)
  • 2 tbsp butter

Flavorings:

  • 1 can 4 oz / 113 g diced green chilies
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp cumin optional
  • Salt to taste

Garnish (Optional):

  • 1 –2 tbsp chopped cilantro

Instructions
 

Melt the Butter:

  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt 2 tbsp butter.

Add Cheese & Milk:

  • Stir in 450 g cubed cheese and ¾ cup (180 ml) milk.
  • Cook on low, stirring constantly, until fully melted (~5 minutes).

Mix in Flavors:

  • Add 113 g green chilies, 1 tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp onion powder, and ½ tsp cumin.
  • Simmer 2–3 minutes until smooth. Adjust thickness with extra milk (1 tbsp at a time).

Season & Serve:

  • Taste and add salt if needed. Garnish with cilantro.
  • Serve warm with tortilla chips or over nachos.

Notes

  • For spice: Add jalapeños or hot sauce.
  • Storage: Keep in fridge up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of milk.
  • Slow cooker tip: Use "warm" setting for parties.
