  • 1 lb 450 g ground breakfast sausage
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups 480 ml milk (whole or 2%)

Bread & Cheese

  • 6 slices bread cubed (~4 cups)
  • 2 cups 200 g shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup 25 g shredded Parmesan cheese (optional)

Seasonings & Garnish

  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley optional garnish

Instructions
 

Prep & Preheat

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

Cook the Sausage

  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown sausage, breaking into crumbles (~7 mins).
  • Drain excess grease (leave 1 tbsp for flavor).

Make the Egg Mixture

  • In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until fully combined.

Assemble the Casserole

  • Layer bread cubes in the baking dish.
  • Top with cooked sausage and cheddar cheese.
  • Pour egg mixture evenly over everything. Press bread lightly to submerge.
  • Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top (if using).

Bake & Rest

  • Bake uncovered 35–40 mins until golden and set (knife test: clean).
  • Let rest 5 mins before slicing.

Garnish & Serve

  • Sprinkle with fresh parsley (optional).
